Digital Explorers programme offers a 1 – year career advancement journey that will take up to 50 young Nigerian ICT talents to Lithuania for paid employment in leading local companies and skills enhancement in emerging technologies. In a nutshell, it gives you a chance to receive many years worth of experience in a single journey and accelerate your career at full speed.
We are looking for Digital Explorers with different skills sets, whether you are a developer, a biz dev within the ICT sector, or looking to express yourself creatively, do apply! Regardless of the technology you are most proficient in, or the coding language of your preference, apply to be a part of the pool of the most talented!
Please fill in our free online application depending on your profile. You will have to provide personal details, demonstrate your previous experience, as well as to provide argumentation as to why you want to become a Digital Explorer. You will also be asked to upload a short video about your motivation and achievements. The call for applications will be open until 1st of April, but we strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible, as the programme team will process applications as they come. Secure your place early on!
Once you have filled in the application form, you will be asked to complete a practical task (coding skills assessment test or situational task for non-technical applicants), which will help us to further evaluate your skills. For coding tests, please be aware that the system has plagiarism detection, and therefore candidates who have not performed the tasks themselves will be disqualified. Only the best performing candidates will proceed further. In case of doubt, the programme team might contact you to participate in additional testing sessions.
Based on your application and practical task results you might be invited to an interview with our selection team, the goal of which is to assess your motivation and soft skills. Please bear in mind, that due to a high number of applicants, only the best performing candidates will be invited to the interview stage.
The final pool of shortlisted candidates will be invited for an intensive one week on-site training in Abuja, which will consist of practical tasks, learning sessions, and a three-day hackathon with the participation of Lithuanian ICT companies and Nigerian techies. If you are pre-selected, you have to be physically present in Abuja (travel costs will be covered).
Based on previous stages and should you be shortlisted by the selection team, your details will be shared with potential employers in Lithuania for further screening. This might include both interviews and further practical tasks based on usual hiring practices of Lithuanian companies.
Based on performance in previous recruitment stages, shortlisted candidates will receive offers from companies. It is important to understand that both You and companies are choosing at this stage, so stay patient!
After you receive an offer and sign an agreement with your perfect match, we will start all necessary procedures for you to acquire a Lithuanian visa. While waiting for the documents to be processed you will take part in a workplace awareness trainings. Once everything is ready, you officially start your journey. Congrats!

2019 edition of Digital Explorers programme took 15 young and bright Nigerian ICT talents to be employed in 6 leading Lithuanian ICT companies. Explorers, selected from a competitive 1,400 strong Nigerian ICT talent pool, had a chance to work on complex projects involving high-end bespoke solutions, big data, automation systems and other advanced technologies.
In the course of Digital Explorers 2019, despite the global COVID-19 pandemic a number of international events were organised in Vilnius, Abuja and Lagos. Online and offline high-level business missions took Lithuanian tech companies and government representatives to meet with Nigerian counterparts for opening up new business opportunities and institutional exchange on digital economy development and global talent circulation for mutual growth.
